Vietnam is the 7th country in the world in terms of coconut growing area, of which Ben Tre is the area with the largest coconut growing area in the country. The coconut tree has many uses in life, the trunk, leaves, fruit, and flowers are all used for many different purposes. Among them, coconut is the most used, especially in the field of coconut oil production from old coconut meat. Dried coconuts usually have hard coconut flesh inside, which is very fragrant and fatty. This part of coconut meat contains up to 60-65% oil and coconut oil is produced by crushing coconut meat.

According to the traditional method, coconut oil is produced by grating the coconut flesh and squeezing it to get the juice. Boil the juice for a few hours until the coconut oil separates and is yellow and fragrant. Coconut residue will fall to the bottom, filter the oil layer above, extract into a bottle and use gradually. Nowadays, coconut oil is pressed directly with a press, creating transparent, light yellow or colorless cold-pressed coconut oil, retaining the beneficial ingredient values in the oil. Coconut oil is naturally sweet and contains 92% saturated fatty acids (in triglyceride form). Highly valuable in food, medicine and cosmetics production.

Physical properties: Liquid, transparent, slightly yellowish, fatty aroma, insoluble in water, lighter than water. Coconut oil liquefies at temperatures above 25°C. At low temperatures, coconut oil turns into a milky white solid.

Ingredients: Belongs to the group of oils with a heavy structure, containing mostly saturated fatty acids such as lauric acid, caprylic acid, and capric acid with antibacterial and antifungal effects. Together with Tocopherol and Phenonic compounds such as phenols, phenolic acids, hydroxycinnamic acid and its derivatives, and flavonoids have powerful antioxidant effects.
